Helium-3 is an exceptionally rare element on the Earth. The Sun, on the other hand, emits Helium-3 as part of its solar winds. The Earth’s gravity prevents any of this Helium-3 from reaching us. However, the Moon’s gravity is weaker than that of the Earth, hence there is nothing to prevent Helium-3 from reaching the Moon’s surface and being absorbed by the lunar soil. As a result, it is believed that there are roughly 1,100,000 metric tons of Helium-3 on the Moon’s surface down to a depth of a few meters.

By products of lunar Helium-3 manufacturing will contribute considerably to future economic returns when buyers for these items emerge in space.
